Just a bit more work done on the shoe and darkening of the wall. The floor is a hard wood floor so just a bit of wood grain is being laid in as well....
The scene is simple with just the bottom of the chair being seen. I have started to work on the shoes. There are cast shadows, highlights, shadows and reflected light being used on both the shoes as well as the chair leg.
I started by working on the background. I am attempting to create a very textured old wall....
This is an exercise we are working on in the yahoo group Drawing Line to Life. Our subject matter is shoes and we are to apply the 7 components of light and shadow. Here is my reference photo....it's pretty lousy but I mainly wanted to capture natural lighting and placement of the shoes. I really want to work more 'open minded' and not be a slave the reference photo. I have a vision in mind of how I want this to look....let's see if I can accomplish this.....
